Surrogacy Qualifications

The bar exists for a reason. And it’s probably not as far away as you think.

Our requirements follow fertility clinic standards. They exist to make sure this journey is safe and sustainable for you, not to screen out good candidates.

Mental Readiness

You’ll complete a psychological evaluation as part of screening. This isn’t a test you pass or fail. It’s about making sure you’re in a place where this journey will be a genuinely positive experience for you.

A few conditions that often disqualify surrogate candidates can require a closer look before we can move forward:

  • Diagnosed history of bipolar disorder
  • Depression currently managed with medication
  • Any history of inpatient psychiatric treatment
  • Migraines with aura

If any of these apply to you, please still reach out. Every situation is different, and we’d rather talk it through with you than have you assume the answer is no.

Not sure if you qualify?

Some of these have more flexibility than a bullet point suggests.

If you’ve had a complicated pregnancy in the past but healthy ones too, that’s worth a conversation. If you’re close to the age range or BMI, reach out before you assume the answer is no.

We’d rather you ask than talk yourself out of something before you even start.

What happens after you apply?

A real person from our team will reach out within a few days. Not an automated response. Someone who can answer your specific questions and tell you honestly what the next step looks like for you.
