A gestational surrogate (or carrier) is someone who carries a baby for intended parents who are unable to do so themselves. The embryo is created through IVF using eggs and sperm from the intended parents or donors. The surrogate is not genetically related to the child she carries. Most surrogacy agencies operate at scale. That means overloaded case managers, matches made by availability, and intended parents who feel managed rather than supported.
We made a different choice. xBaby works with fewer families so we can actually show up for each one — one dedicated case manager per surrogate, matches made with real care, and someone who picks up the phone who already knows your name.
This is the part that matters most to us.
Most agencies collect their fee at or before the match call. We don't. After your match call, we submit your surrogate's medical records to your embryo transfer clinic for review. Only once the clinic has given approval do you pay your first installment and our agency fee. If something doesn't check out, you haven't paid for a match that isn't going to work.

When we search for your surrogate, we send you profiles one at a time. There's no pressure to say yes to someone because the timing is convenient. When you find someone you'd like to meet, we make the introduction — and only then do you see a cost estimate specific to her, so you know exactly what you're looking at before anything moves forward.

The estimated cost for agency services, legal work, insurance, surrogate expenses, and other dedicated support is approximately $100,000. This is separate from your surrogate’s base compensation, which is a direct payment for her commitment and care, and typically ranges from $55,000 to $120,000+ based on her experience and individual circumstances. The total estimated range for a standard journey is between $150,000 and $215,000+. This estimate is for a 12-month journey with one embryo transfer and excludes IVF clinic and newborn medical costs.
Our detailed estimate also transparently outlines potential additional costs that may arise based on the unique circumstances of your journey. These can include items like long-distance travel for the surrogate, fees for specific medical procedures (e.g., C-section, carrying multiples), or support for scenarios like physician-ordered bed rest. These are not paid upfront but are detailed so you can plan with full awareness.
The total investment can vary based on your specific circumstances, such as the surrogate’s location and experience, and whether additional transfer cycles are needed. We provide a personalized, line-item cost estimate and work with trusted partners to offer financing options because we understand the significant commitment this represents
