Surrogates at xBaby earn between $69,000 and $134,000 total. Here's how that breaks down.

Base Compensation

Ranges from $55,000 to $120,000
Set by you, with guidance from your case manager
Paid monthly throughout your pregnancy

Your compensation reflects your location, experience, and pregnancy history. Your case manager will talk through what’s right for your situation.

Milestone payments

Totals $14,000 across the journey
Paid at key points: medical screening, contract signing, medication start, and embryo transfer
Includes monthly expense support and wellness payments throughout pregnancy

You’re compensated as you go, not just at the end

Covered Expenses

These are completely separate from your compensation. Nothing comes out of your pocket:

Travel

All required travel to medical appointments is fully covered for you and a companion. Flights, hotel, meals, and ground transport are all included.

Childcare and Housekeeping

Childcare assistance is available during medically required activities. Housekeeping support kicks in partway through your pregnancy. Both are there so your everyday life doesn’t take a hit while you’re doing this.

Lost Wages

If your recovery requires time away from work, your weekly pay is reimbursed based on your paystubs. A physician’s order is required.

Breast Milk Pumping

If the intended parents request it, pumping is compensated weekly for as long as they ask, plus a paid weaning period after.

Life Insurance

You’re covered from the moment medical screening begins.

Initial coverage kicks in at the start of physical screening and runs through embryo transfer
Primary coverage begins at medication start, lasts 18 months, and includes a 12-month extension for any surrogacy-related complications

Health Insurance

If you have existing health insurance, we’ll review it for surrogacy coverage. If you don’t, or if it isn’t covered, xBaby arranges the right plan. All of your medical care is taken care of.
